Each of the eight Founders Issue pieces is produced in an edition of just twenty individually numbered examples.
Once the final example of a piece has been issued, that edition is closed.
It will not be repeated.

CALEDONIAN WHISKY and HOLYROODHEATHER
The Founders Issue Collection is distinguished by a colourway reserved exclusively for Founders Issue pieces.
Rich Caledonian Whisky leather is complemented by Holyrood Heather, a distinctive purple accent inspired by Edinburgh.
The combination will never appear within the permanent House Collection.
A quiet distinction, recognisable to those who know.

Every Founders Issue piece carries its own individual number, giving that object an identity that belongs to it alone.
The numbering records the collection, the piece and its position within the edition.

THE HOUSE REGISTER
Every Founders Issue piece is entered
into the Balfour Cairns House Register together with its individual number,
year of issue and original Registered Owner.
The Register establishes a permanent
record of provenance from the moment the piece is issued by the House.
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
Every numbered piece is accompanied by
its Certificate of Authenticity.
The Certificate records the identity of
the piece, its individual number, year of issue and original Registered Owner,
establishing its provenance within the House.
It should remain with the piece
throughout its life, preserving the record of its origin and, should it one day
pass to another custodian, its continuing history.
REGISTERED OWNERSHIP
The first owner of every Founders Issue piece is recorded by the House as its Registered Owner.
Its number is unique. Its provenance is established. Its Certificate accompanies it.
From that point, the character it acquires and the stories it carries belong to its owner.
